dos, duo, double

Breaking news: just a few short hours until New York.: A Vacation, An Expedition, An Adventure. We’re riding the $30 Chinatown Bus. It’s going to be an e*x*p*e*r*i*e*n*c*e* but I’m looking forward to it nonetheless.

Due to this excitement, Monday got away from me, and Tuesday is trying to. A brief and high-spirited post to reflect my state of mind:

Monday can turn into a giant hassle, so I think it’s best to start with something bright and wonderful to get the week kicked off right.

Here is your weekly dose of design, just right for that wonky Monday that just passed:

do you know what a mexican hotdog is?

.

It’s Tuesday, one of my favorites, so of course I’m wearing my favorite shoes- camel suede slingback flats (and a men’s oxford, and a studded leather belt from Madewell, and a topknot, and giant gold hoops). Another pair of marvelous heels from the inimitable jeffrey campbell:

they’re marvelous and crazy.

also: where do you fall in the debate…

sperry topsiders or sebagos?

Those posts are a little scant, I know. Life is endlessly thrilling, and blogging is falling by the wayside. For now, hope you’re contented with these links!

So last week was, in summary,

nuts.

Have fun with that link. Everything is wild.

Morning/afternoon/evening! Here’s to hoping that its a good one. It’s Saturday, and a grey one at that. I spent this morning doing three things:

1. Wandering down to a store that sells cheap sunglasses and getting myself a pair of big round ones. It’s a day for disguises.

2. Getting to the library here at school to pick up a book. While there, I ran across a very yellow and very worn and very 60s copy of Breakfast at Tiffany’s by Truman Capote.

3. I went with it and grabbed a chocolate croissant and coffee from the Daily Grind in the Pit, and made my way to the nearest sculpture garden I could find to read and relax before the rest of the 18-25 year-old world stirred up the atmosphere and lit it on fire.

If you find yourself awake too early on a Saturday, enjoy it- curious things move in the early light of morning.

“Never love a wild thing… you’ll end up looking at the sky. It’s better to look at the sky than live there,” said Holly Golightly.
